Hello,
Today we were at the old Hibu again. It was a sunny day, so it was a great day to be outside. Today we started the class off with some first aid. Mr. Dwyer used Rolf as an example, and we went through the ABC ( Airway, Breathing and Circulation).
Then we got split into groups. I came in a group with Marlene, Simran and Mathea. In our group me and Mathea got chosen to be in a traumatic situation. We had been in a motorcycle crash and we got nudles as barf. I had lost two fingers and Mathea was unconscious. They helped us while we were barfing at them. I learned that being very stressed as a patient can effect the ones helping very much. They also got very stressed and i felt like they didn't quite know what to do. When they had helped us, everyone in the class got in a circle with Mr.Dwyer and we discussed what had happened to every patient and we talked about how they fixed it.
Today, I for the first time played frisbee golf. It was really fun, although we had the worst number of throws. The goal is to hit all the different things marked with the frisbee with the fewest through. I was in the same group as later. Me, Marlene, Mathea and Simran. I think this was a fun game to play and I hope we can do it another time. We managed to loose our frisbee. Mathea threw it into a huge bush and I think we looked for it for about 20 minutes or so. At last we found it so that was a relief. At the end Nooman`s group lost their frisbee in a bush with poison ivy. No no one wanted to get it, but Mathea at last did.
I think this lesson was very fun and different! I hope we can have more frisbee golf some time in the future.

2. September 2015 P.E Class
Hello!
This weeks P.E class we experienced some (fake) traumatic situations at Kongsberghallen. At first we learned a little about the different tools Mr.Dwyer had brought. Then we got into groups of 4. I got in a group with Mathea, Marlene and Emma. Marlene was the one who was "hurt". When we found her she had broke her arm and we had to fix it. We took some sticks Mr.Dwyer had brought which was supposed to be splints. We them taped the splints to her hand so it would wobble around. So it could lay straight and still. And lastly we bandaged it all and we checked her pulse. When all the groups were done with their hurt person we gathered in a circle. We went through ever hurt person and we had to figure out where on the bandaged place the person was hurt. If someone broke their wrist you have to bandage their hand and before the wrist to make the broken bone stable. This trauma lesson I learned that I have to bandage before and after the broken bone to make it stable.
The other half of the class we played more Ultimate Frisbee, but this time we did a tournament and once again we got into groups of 4 or 5. There was 4 groups, so groups 1 and 2 played against each other on one half of the room, and groups 3 and 4 used the other half. After groups 1 and 2 had played against each other, 3 and 4 had played against each other, groups 1 and 3 played and 2 and 4 played. My team lost every game we played, but it was fun anyways!
Already now i have become much better at throwing and catching the frisbee. I feel like it is easier now and I am not so nervous. My group did work well together, but non of us were very good at throwing so... :)

Second P.E Lesson
Hi!
Today I had a really great time. It was so fun even though it was raining.
We met up at the old "Hibu" building. When everyone had arrived we split into groups. I was in a group with Maria, Nikolas, Andreas and Mathea. This lesson we were learning more about safety. So instead of just sitting and listening were going to so something physically. Mr.Dwyer needed two people from each group and me and Mathea were those two. He took us a short distance into the forest. We were going to pretend we were hurt. Mathea got a stick taped to her hand (Pretending it had went through her arm) and i was supposed to be unconscious. When Mathea got a stick taped to her, we went somewhere in the forest and screamed for the others in our group to come to us. Mathea was screaming and i was just laying there. The others in our group had to use the materials they got from the safety kit to help us. They took Mathea`s stick out of her hand and bandaged it. They thought i was dead so they just cover me with a blanket. Haha!
In this lesson i learned what to do when someone has a stick through their hand. In this situation you shouldn't remove the stick, because removing it can cause more bleeding and you don't want more blood. So you should just leave the stick in and bandage around it. This is what you should do before the ambulance comes.
I also learned what to do if someone is unconscious. If someone is unconscious you should do the ABC. The ABC stands for: A= Airway, B= Breathing and C= Circulation. If someone is unconscious you first of all need to call the ambulance. Then you need to lay them on their backs with their head facing up, and slightly tilted backwards. After giving them an airway you need to make sure they beat properly. If they re not breathing you need to push their chest 30 times or give them mouth to mouth. Last, but not least you need to make sure blood is running through their body.
We did this for the first hour of the lesson and the second half we played with frisbees.
We got in a circle and threw frisbees to each other, got into groups and through frisbees to each other and we played a game called the ultimate frisbee. I was not very good at throwing the frisbee to others but it was fun.
Goals for this unit:
- I will get better at throwing frisbees and catching them
- I will try to learn as much as I can about traumatic situations and safety
How to play Ultimate frisbee:
The Ultimate Frisbee is a game where you are divided into two teams. At each end there needs to be a marked horizontal line, this is the goal. The team has to score at the opposite side from where they started. To score a goal someone on your team needs to catch the frisbee over the marked line. You need to stand still while holding the frisbee and no one can take it from your hand when you have it. If you throw to someone on your team and they do not catch it the other team gets it.

First P.E Lesson
Our first P.E lesson was at the first day of school so I was very exited. I was exited about everything really. Our previous P.E teacher (Erin Haugen) is no longer teaching P.E to us so we have a new teacher. His name is Bill Francis Dwyer III (Sorry if i spelled it wrong -.-). I am calling him Mr.Dwyer. I am not really sure what i want to cal him, but Mr.Dwyer it is for now.
He started of the lesson with talking about him self. His past seems so exiting, he has been so many places. He has been so many places that, when people ask him where he`s from, he doesn't really know what to answer. Mr.Dwyer talked also about all the cool stuff he has planed for us this year. He seems really cool and i am really looking forward to getting to know him :)
This unit is about Wilderness First Responder. We are learning about the different kinds and the ways to handle trauma. I think this unit will be very interesting, because i don't know very much about it.
After all the talking we went outside for the last hour. Mr.Dwyer wanted us to do something, a competition. We went into groups and each student in that group got a number from 1-4. I don't remember the order, but each number represented a handicap. Each person form the group got one handicap. They either got: Not being able to talk, not being able to move their legs, not being able to see or having to wearing big, warm winter gloves. Everyone from the group had to complete the obstacle course Mr.Dwyer had made with their handicaps and come back to clip a hanger on his shoe. All the groups had to do this straight after each other while Mr.Dwyer took the time. The whole MYP is going to do this and i hope we were fastest. Our first time we got something around 5 minutes and the last time i think we got something around 2 and a half minutes. The first time we did this i think everyone was a bit confused. I don't know about the others but i did not understand that we were going straight after the other team. I thought I was competing against the other teams in my class. This exercise was very fun. I was the blind person once and it was so hard. It was so scary, I didn't want top run into something so I was very careful. It was very stressing as well because everyone was yelling at me and Marlene, who was leading me, just dragged me and yelled, "Come on, Dina! It`s no big deal!" But it kind of was. I think, at least my group, was not exactly great on the communicating part. -.-
I learned somethings from this game. I learned to never stress a person who has a handicap! If someone is blind I will never ever drag them around and yell at them so they get nervous! :) I also learned that it can be very hard to have any of these handicaps. I can't imagine how it must feel for the people who have them.
